Surprise package Sara Errani, who started the French Open as a 150/1 outsider at William Hill is now just 3/1 and one match away from Grand Slam Glory. Her conquests thus far have included 2009 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic and US Open champion Sam Stosur, but the odds are suggesting that this match may be a step too far for Errani.
Sharapova, one of the front runners before the tournament began at 7/1, is the overwhelming favourite at 1/4 to complete her career Grand Slam on Saturday having not won a major tournament since 2008.
“Sharapova is the red hot favourite but Errani deserves her place in the final and she will probably never have such a good chance of winning a Grand Slam,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
1/4 Sharapova, 3/1 Errani.
11./2 Errani 2-0, 4/6 Sharapova 2-0.
6/1 Errani 2-1, 16/5 Shrapova 2-1.
